It is found throughout tropical India and Ceylon. The leaves are green unequally toothed. The flowers are solitary, yellow in colour. The fruit is a rounded capsule. Normally it grows in waste lands.
Uses :
Fever, chest affections, gonorrhoea, laxative in nature chronic inflammation of urethra and urinary bladder.
How to Use:
Juice of Leaves and ghee are given in catarrhal, bilious diarrhoea. Seeds are used in decoction in piles and coughs. They are distinctly useful in gonorrhoea, gleet and chronic cystitis. Finely powdered Seeds can be given as laxative and expectorant. The leaves of this plant soothe and protect the alimentary tract and relieve inflamation, they are given as decoction for bronchitis, diarrhoea, inflamation of the bladder, urethra, and fevers. The decoction of the bark promotes the flow of urine.
