description & usage

This consists of asbestos as it is mined. It occurs in crude drug commerce as atleast in two distinct varieties, the block and the fibrous. They are silicates of Calcium, Magnesium and Iron. Used in the diseases of liver as a calx. The fibrous variety is also called satin spar.
