Other names are Ileus bowel obstruction.  An intestinal obstruction is a partial or complete blockage that result in the failure of the intestinal contents to pass out  through the bowel.

Causes,  Incidence  and Risk factors :

Obstruction may  occur either from illus or mechanical causes . Paralytic illus is  one of the major causes of obstruction in  infants and children.
