CARICA PAPAYA
description & usage
It is an upright usually branchless ,fast growing tree. The trunk is soft, grayish, marked with fallen leaf scars, Leaves are lobed, long stalks, borne on the top of the tree. The male flowers are long stalked but female flowers are sessile.

Anthelmintic for round worms, dyspepsia, spleen and liver., corns and warts, heals cuts and wounds, promotes flow of urine, constipation, asthma, jaundice, cough,
How to Use:
Milky juice of unripe fruit mixed with honey and followed by castor oil acts as an anthelmintic for round worms. Fruit is useful in chronic diarrhoea. Juice of the green fruit if applied locally in the shape of pessary to the osuteri induces abortion ; it dissolves coagulated albumen. Unripe and green fruits are made into curry and eaten by women to stimulate secretion of milk. Leaves dipped in hot water or warmed over a fire are applied to painful parts for nervous pains.
