It is a Xerophytic plants botanically called Phoenix dactylifera. Fruit is demulcent, expectorant, nutrient, laxative and aphrodisiac. Given in asthmatic affections, coughs, fever and gonorrhoea. Contains sugars and vitamins A, B and D.
