Definition

Hydrothorax - a collection of serous fluid within the pleural cavity.

Causes and Risk Factors:

It is mainly caused by Bacteria and also by viral origin. It is associated within fever, rigor, cough, with purulent sputum and also causes consolidation in the chest.
