It is a evergreen tree, leaves are long, thick leathery, pointed at tip. Flowers small, fleshy, pale, or dull white. The tree occurs all the plains and lower hills of India upto 1200 metres.
Uses:
Itch, Bleeding gums, ulcers, diabetes, cough, bronchitis, skin diseases, laxative.
How to Use:
Decoction of the bark is applied in curing itch, bleeding gums, ulcers and it is given internally in diabetes. Leaf ash, mixed with ghee is applied on burns. Oil from seeds is applied for skin diseases.
