Cultivated in gardens throughout India for its handsome flowers. Flowers are looks like Ixora flower.
Uses :
Bark is much useful in uterine affections, especially in menorrhagia due to uterine fibroids and other causes.
How to Use:
Decoction of the bark prepared by boiling 4 ounces of the bark in 4 ounces of milk and 16 ounces of water till the later is evaporated and this quantity is given with milk in two or three divided doses during the course of the day in menorrhagia. It must be commenced from the 4th day of the monthly period and continued till the bleeding ceases. Decoction of the bark in water with dilute sulphuric acid is also used. Flowers pounded and mixed with water are useful in haemorrhagic dysentery. Dosage of the fluid extract is 15 to 60 minims. The drug is also used in scorpion sting.
