Definition

Scabies - a contagious skin disease due to the itch mite, Sarcoptes scabiei; accompanied by intense itching and eczema caused by scratching.

causes, incidence and risk factors:

A contagious disease of the skin caused by the female of the mite Sarcoptex scabei. Due to infection of epidermis in the skin which may be viral origin. It is caused unhygenic living atmosphere, improper food habits, hot climates, etc.
