Vertigo - a sensation of rotation or movement of one's self or one's surroundings in any plane; sometimes used erroneously to mean any form of dizziness.
causes and risk factors:
'A hallucination of motion' when there is no motion, or an exaggerated sense of motion in response to bodily movement, and is a cardinal symptom of vestibular disease. Vertigo is usually accompanied by nausea, vomiting and sense of anxiety. Causes include Menier's diseases, Labyointhitis, vestibular neuronitis, POst trauma, Acoustic neuroma, Brain stem B vascular disease multiple sclerosis. Disease of Cerebellum, Vertibro-basilar migraine, Ototoxix drugs, cerrical spondylosis etc.
